BIO: Thomas David Henrich (The Clutch or Old Reliable) was born in Massillon, OH and died in 2009 in Dayton, OH. He played major league baseball from 1937 to 1950 as outfielder and 1st baseman for the New York Yankees, appeared in 1938, 1941, 1947 and 1949 World Series, and was selected 5 times as an All-Star. He was involved in one of the most memorable plays in Series history in 1941, was the hitting star of the 1947 Series with a .323 batting average, and hit the first walk-off home run in Series history in 1949's Game 1. Tommy Henrich is the last surviving member of the 1938 World Champion New York Yankees. There are no living former baseball players who played on the winning team in an earlier World Series.
