BIO: John Patsy Francona was born in 1933 in Aliquippa, PA and died in 2018 in New Brighton, PA. He played major league baseball from 1956 to 1970 as outfielder and 1st baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, Oakland Athletics and the Milwaukee Brewers, and was selected in 1961 as an All-Star. Probably the only major league player whose middle name is "Patsy", Tito Francona had a long major league career with teams that did not excel, and never appeared in post-season play. Francona was named to "The Top 100 Greatest Indians Roster", as created by the Cleveland Indians in 2001. After his retirement, he had two open heart surgeries, in 1992 and 2001, and had both knees replaced in 2005. He still lives in his hometown of New Brighton, PA.
