NUMBER OF PHOTOS: 1 COMMENTS / CONDITION: Offered is an approximately 3-1/2"x5-1/2" real photo postcard of Patsy Gharrity, pictured in his Cleveland Indians uniform circa 1933-35. The original photo was taken by George Burke in 1933-35, but this card was produced some time later (no earlier than the 1950's judging by the standard Kodak back). Comes from a large collection of such postcards that we will be listing over the coming months, all having standard postcard backs but being postally unused. Wear on these, if any, is mostly confined to minor corner and edge wear, but see scans for further details including condition. BIO: Edward Patrick Gharrity was born in 1892 in Parnell, IA and died in 1966 in Beloit, WI. He played major league baseball from 1916 to 1930 as catcher and infielder for the Washington Senators. He was a Washington Senators coach from 1929 to 1932 and also made a handful of appearances as a player in his first two years on the club's staff. He then spent the next three years as a member of the Cleveland Indians coaching staff. In 1938 he managed at Eau Claire. SKU: GB12658
