BIO: Nelson Thomas Potter (Nellie) was born in Mount Morris, IL and died in 1990 in Mt.Morris, IL. He went to college at Manchester College. He played major league baseball from 1936 to 1949 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Athletics, St. Louis Browns and the Boston Braves, and appeared in 1944 and 1948 World Series.
