He played major league baseball from 1948 to 1961 as pitcher for the St. Louis Browns, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Athletics and the Los Angeles Angels, and was selected in 1951 as an All-Star. He had black hair and blue eyes, his ancestry was English and his principal hobbies were hunting, fishing, trapping and basketball. He celebrated his 80th birthday in 2005, and as of 2008, still regularly attended the St. Louis Browns annual player alumni get-together in St. Louis. Once a Brownie, always a Brownie. SKU: CL01590
