If you have any questions about a particular piece, please ask before the auction ends. BIO: Frank Edwin (Jr.) McGraw was born in 1944 in Martinez, CA and died in 2004 in Brentwood, TN. He played major league baseball from 1965 to 1984 as pitcher for the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies, appeared in the 1973 World Series, and was selected in 1972 and 1975 as an All-Star. Known for his famous quote "Ya Gotta Believe" during the Mets 1973 National League Championship season. After his retirement, he made frequent appearances as a baseball reporter for WPVI-TV in Philadelphia. He contracted brain cancer and battled the disease for ten months when he underwent surgery for a malignant tumor. Sadly McGraw died at age 59 on January 5, 2004 of brain cancer at the home of his son, country singer Tim McGraw. Michael James Ryan was born in 1941 in Haverhill, MA and died in 2020 in Wolfeboro, NH. He played major league baseball from 1964 to 1974 as catcher for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates, and appeared in the 1967 World Series. After his playing career ended, Ryan was a Philadelphia Phillies coach from 1980 to 1995. SKU: L05411
