THE UMPIRE HAS SPOKENElbowing his way up close to shout a protest in the ear of umpire Frank Dascoli, Chicago Cubs catcher Cal Neeman gets nowhere with his contention that he tagged out Frank Thomas of Pittsburgh at the plate in ninth inning of first game Wednesday. Majestically raising his right index finger, the umpire informs Neeman that he is to leave the game forthwith. Pirates won first game 4-2; Cubs took abbreviated nightcap, 5-1.---TIME CALLED ON PAINTING JOB TO WATCH BALL GAME---a painter who was busy high on teh side of a house on Waveland Avenue beyond the bleachers of Wrigley Field found the Chicago Cubs-New York Giants game an irresistable attraction today. At left, he paints while an assistant holds ladder. In middle picture, his assistant has gone below for refreshments, while the painter sits on scaffold to watch the game.
