He played major league baseball from 1951 to 1963 as shortstop for the Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates, appeared in the 1957 and 1958 World Series, and was selected 4 times as an All-Star. After his playing days, Logan remained in Milwaukee and spent time as a broadcaster, ran for sheriff and was engaged in a variety of other endeavors in and out of baseball. He has scouted for the Brewers, primarily in the state of Wisconsin. He was one of the founders and president of the Milwaukee Braves Historical Association. John Richard Schofield (Ducky) was born in 1935 in Springfield, IL and died in 2022 in Springfield, IL. He played major league baseball from 1953 to 1971 as infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers, and appeared in the 1960 and 1968 World Series. Donn Alvin Clendenon was born in 1935 in Neosho, MO and died in 2005 in Sioux Falls, SD. He went to college at Morehouse College. He played major league baseball from 1961 to 1972 as 1st baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Montreal Expos, New York Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals, and appeared in the 1969 World Series. While with the New York Mets in 1969, he hit three home runs in the 1969 World Series and was named World Series MVP. Donn had no plans to play baseball as a child, preferring basketball and football. He opted for baseball because his stepfather Nish Williams (who had raised him after his biological father died when he was six months old) was a former Negro League catcher and manager who loved the game. Williams arranged for Clendenon to face Satchel Paige and Sad Sam Jones as a youth. After finishing second in his high school class, he earned 12 letters in sports at Morehouse College. He got a job teaching in Atlanta and considered offers from the NFL's Cleveland Browns and NBA's New York Knicks and Harlem Globetrotters. Branch Rickey offered Clendenon a $500 signing bonus and he accepted it, picking the game his stepfather loved over ones where Donn could have earned more immediately. After retiring from baseball, he earned a law degree. Glen Frederick Hobbie was born in 1936 in Witt, IL and died in 2013 in Springfield, IL. He played major league baseball from 1957 to 1964 as pitcher for the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals. SKU: L14929
