See scans for signature quality and photo condition. BIO: Luis Clemente (Vega) Tiant (El Tiante) was born in 1940 in Marianao, Cuba and died in 2024 in Wells, ME. He played major league baseball from 1964 to 1982 as pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates and the California Angels, appeared in the 1970 and 1975 World Series, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star. In 1966, Tiant tied a major league record when he pitched four straight shutouts on his way to 12 wins and a 2.79 ERA. Tiant really broke through in 1968, after he altered his delivery so that he turned away from the home plate during his motion, in effect creating a hesitation pitch. According to Tiant, the new motion was a response to a drop in his velocity due to an arm injury. Twisting and turning his body into unthinkable positions, Tiant would spend more time looking at second base than he did the plate as he prepared to throw. In his 19-season career, Tiant compiled a 229-172 record with 2416 strikeouts, a 3.30 ERA, 187 complete games, and 49 shutouts in 3486.1 innings. He was inducted to the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997. Well known for his great pitching, charisma, and as an avid cigar smoker, he decided to launch his own line of cigars formulated and designed by him, being named after his nickname, El Tiante. Tiant served as the head coach for the baseball team at the Savannah College of Art and Design from 1998-2001 where he posted a record of 55-97 with a .366 winning percentage. Luis Tiant was inducted into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame on July 23, 2002 in pregame on field ceremony at Fenway Park, Boston, MA. Fredric Michael Lynn was born in 1952 in Chicago, IL and went to college at the University of Southern California. He played major league baseball from 1974 to 1990 as outfielder for the Boston Red Sox, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers and the San Diego Padres, appeared in the 1975 World Series, and was selected 9 times as an All-Star. Lynn was the first player to win the American League MVP and Rookie of the Year Award in the same year (1975). He also played for Team USA in the 1971 Pan American Games. He led the Games with four home runs as the US won Silver. When the US played Gold Medal winner Cuba, Lynn homered in a 4-3 loss. SKU: L14805
