BIO: Linus Reinhard Frey (Junior) was born in St. Louis, MO and died in 2009 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. He played major league baseball from 1933 to 1948 as infielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees and the New York Giants, appeared in the 1939, 1940 and 1947 World Series, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star. Frey began his career as a switch hitter and continued to bat from both sides of the plate until the end of 1938. Starting in 1939, he batted exclusively from the left side of the plate. He threw right-handed. In 1961 Frey was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, and in 1969, as part of the franchise's 100th anniversary, he was selected the Reds all-time second baseman.
