John Duffield Curtis was born in 1948 in Newton, MA and went to college at Clemson University. He played major league baseball from 1970 to 1984 as pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres and the California Angels. Curtis was also a pitching coach in the Milwaukee Brewers chain in 2003-2004.
