See scans for conition and signature quality. BIO: James Roberson Brown was born in 1910 in Jamesville, NC and died in 1977 in Bath, NC. He went to college at North Carolina State University. He played major league baseball from 1937 to 1946 as infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates, appeared in the 1942 World Series, and was selected in 1942 as an All-Star. After his playing career ended, Brown was a Boston Braves coach from 1949 to 1951. Terry Bluford Moore was born in Vernon, AL and died in 1995 in Collinsville, IL. He played major league baseball from 1935 to 1948 as outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, appeared in the 1942 and 1946 World Series, and was selected 4 times as an All-Star. When his playing days ended, he served two terms (1949-52; 1956-58) as a Cardinals coach and managed the Philadelphia Phillies for the last half of the 1954 season. His managing career was brief and uneventful. After beginning the 1954 season as a Phillies' scout, he replaced Steve O'Neill as the club's manager July 15 with the team in third place. He managed the Phils for exactly half a season — 77 games — and the team won only 35 of those games (for a winning percentage of .455), falling to fourth.
