BIO: Jerry Dean Lumpe was born in 1933 in Lincoln, MO and died in 2014 in Springfield, MO. He played major league baseball from 1956 to 1967 as infielder for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics and the Detroit Tigers, appeared in the 1957 and 1958 World Series, and was selected in 1964 as an All-Star. After his playing career ended, Jerry Lumpe was an Oakland Athletics coach in 1971.
