BIO: Hugh Edward Wise was born in 1906 in Campbellsville, KY and died in 1987 in Plantation, FL. He went to college at Purdue University. He played major league baseball for a single season in 2 games in 1930 as catcher for the Detroit Tigers. Wise played and managed in the minor leagues throughout the 1940's. He then scouted for the Boston Braves/Milwaukee Braves (1949-1958), New York Yankees (1959-1961), and Chicago White Sox (1962-1972). Wise put his engineering degree from Purdue to use by designing four diamond spring training complexes for both the Braves and White Sox.
