BIO: Richard Michael Gossage (Goose) was born in 1951 in Colorado Springs, CO. He played major league baseball from 1972 to 1994 as pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and the Seattle Mariners, appeared in the 1978, 1981 and 1984 World Series, was selected 9 times as an All-Star, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008. Rich Gossage, almost always called Goose Gossage during much of his career, was the Mariano Rivera of his time - a dominant relief pitcher who once went a whole season giving up only four earned runs (he had an ERA that year of 0.77). Gossage, whose career spanned 22 years, had 8 saves in World Series play. SKU: BL0374
