BIO: George Francis DeTore was born in 1906 in Utica, NY and died in 1991 in Utica, NY. He went to college at Colgate University. He played major league baseball from 1930 to 1931 as infielder for the Cleveland Indians. In 1937 he led the PCL in batting with a .334 average. He was a Pittsburgh Pirates coach in 1959.
