See scans for signature quality and photo condition. BIO: Gary Nathaniel Matthews Sr. (Sarge) was born in 1950 in San Fernando, CA. He played major league baseball from 1972 to 1987 as outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and the Seattle Mariners, appeared in the 1983 World Series, and was selected in 1979 as an All-Star. Matthews was the 1973 National League Rookie of the Year. After his playing career, he was a hitting coach with the Toronto Blue Jays (1998-1999) and the Milwaukee Brewers (2002), and a Chicago Cubs coach (2003-2006). He also spent two seasons as a Blue Jays broadcaster. He is the father of Gary Matthews Jr. (Little Sarge). SKU: L13696
