BIO: Frederick Albert Schmidt was born in 1916 in Hartford, CT and died in 2012 in Bethlehem, PA. He played major league baseball from 1944 to 1947 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and the Chicago Cubs, and appeared in the 1944 World Series.
