The original photo was taken by George Burke in 1937-38, but this card was produced some time later (no earlier than the 1950's judging by the standard Kodak back). Comes from a large collection of such postcards that we will be listing over the coming months, all having standard postcard backs but being postally unused. Wear on these, if any, is mostly confined to minor corner and edge wear, but see scans for further details including condition. BIO: Frank Andrew McCormick (Buck) was born in New York, NY and died in 982 in Manhasset, NY. He played major league baseball from 934 to 948 as st baseman for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and the Boston Braves, appeared in the 939, 940 and 948 World Series, and was selected 9 times as an All-Star. In 958, McCormick became the Reds analyst on WLWT-TV, where he stayed through the 968 season. SKU: GB10488
