BIO: Frederick Marberry was born in Streetman, TX and died in 976 in Mexia, TX. He played major league baseball from 923 to 936 as pitcher for the Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers and the New York Giants, and appeared in the 924, 925 and 934 World Series. He became well-known around the majors for the scowl he seemed to constantly have on his face that sometimes frightened batters; his appearance and demeanor reminded observers of boxer Luis Firpo, earning Marberry the nickname for which he often expressed disdain.
