BIO: Dwight Michael Evans (Dewey) was born in 1951 in Santa Monica, CA. He played major league baseball from 1972 to 1991 as outfielder for the Boston Red Sox and a single season with the Baltimore Orioles, appeared in the 1975 and 1986 World Series, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star. Evans earned a total of 8 Gold Glove Awards in the outfield as well as a pair of Silver Slugger Awards. After his playing career ended, Evans was a member of the 1994 Colorado Rockies coaching staff. On December 11, 2001, he returned to the Red Sox as the major league hitting coach, and he spent the next season on the Red Sox staff. Evans currently serves as a player development consultant with the team.
