COMMENTS / CONDITION: Snapshot photo of Don Gutteridge, pictured on the field in his St. Louis Browns uniform circa 1944, which has been signed by Gutteridge as shown. The photo measures approximately 3-3/4"x5". Comes from a large collection of unique snapshot-type photos taken in the late 1930's to early 1940's. These photos are generally in VG to EX condition with the majority showing exceptional image quality and faults being largely confined to corners and edges. BIO: Donald Joseph Gutteridge was born in Pittsburg, KS and died in 2008 in Pittsburg, KS. He went to college at Pittsburg State University. He played major league baseball from 1936 to 1948 as infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Browns and the Boston Red Sox, and appeared in the 1944 and 1946 World Series. Gutteridge went on to manage the 1969-70 Chicago White Sox.
