BIO: Donald Anton Denkinger was born in 1936 in Cedar Falls, IA and died in 2023 in Waterloo, IA. He went to college at Wartburg College. Don Denkinger was an umpire in the Alabama-Florida League (1960), Northwest League (1961-1962), Texas League (1963-1965), and International League (1966-1968). He was then an American League umpire from 1969 to 1998. He was a wrestler in college and served in the United States army before starting his umpiring career.
