He came on in the eighth inning with the Red Sox leading the opener, 1-0, and preserved a ninth straight victory for Bill Monbouquette, Boston winning, 4-1. In the nightcap, Radatz won one for Early Wilson, giving the Red Sox a 3-2 victory. See scans for further details including condition. BIO: Richard Raymond Radatz (The Monster, Moose) was born in 1937 in Detroit, MI and died in 2005 in Easton, MA. He went to college at Michigan State University. He played major league baseball from 1962 to 1969 as pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and the Montreal Expos, and was selected in 1963 and 1964 as an All-Star. Radatz was one of the ten best relievers according to The Relief Pitcher as a result of being the most dominant reliever of his era. He holds the major league record for strikeouts in a season by a reliever when he fanned 181 for the Boston Red Sox in 1964. Radatz died on March 16, 2005 after falling down the stairs of his home and suffering a head injury. SKU: L11147
