BIO: Donald Albert Hoak (Tiger) was born in 1928 in Roulette, PA and died in 1969 in Pittsburgh, PA. He played major league baseball from 1954 to 1964 as 3rd baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies, appeared in the 1955 and 1950 World Series, and was selected in 1957 as an All-Star. Following his playing career he tried broadcasting Pirate games on radio and televison (1965-1966) and then coached for the Phillies (1967) before managing minor league baseball. He died at age 41 from a heart attack while at the wheel of his car, chasing his brother-in-law's stolen car.
