BIO: Robert Paul Mahoney was born in 1928 in LeRoy, MN and died in 2000 in Lincoln, NE. He played major league baseball from 1951 to 1952 as pitcher for the Chicago White Sox and the St. Louis Browns. Bob spent the rest of the 1952 season with the San Antonio Missions of the Texas League. On October 14th, he was traded by the Browns, along with Ray Coleman, Stan Rojek and $95,000, to the Brooklyn Dodgers for Billy Hunter. Bob chose not to play in 1953 and this finished out his pro career with five seasons under his belt at age 24. He later became a district manager for Graves Truck Lines in Lincoln, NE.
