BIO: Robert William Keely was born in 1909 in St. Louis, MO and died in 2001 in Bradenton, FL. He played major league baseball from 1944 to 1945 as catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. After his playing career ended, he joined the Boston Braves as bullpen coach in 1946 and remained with the Braves until 1957. He was also a scout for the Cardinals in the 1960s and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1970s.
