BIO: Robert Linwood Wilkins was born in 1922 in Denton, NC and died in 2010 in Shreveport, LA. He went to college at Catawba College. He played major league baseball from 1944 to 1945 as shortstop for the Philadelphia Athletics. After retiring from baseball, Wilkins returned to Shreveport, where he worked for the Sheriff's Department and coached high school baseball.
