BIO: Bobby Ray Murcer was born in 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK and died in 2008 in Oklahoma City, OK. He played major league baseball from 1965 to 1983 as outfielder for the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs, appeared in the 1981 World Series, and was selected 5 times as an All-Star. After his career ended, Murcer was a Yankees broadcaster until the date of his passing on July 12, 2008, except for 1989 when he was an assistant general manager for the club. As of 2004, he was also serving as chairman of the Baseball Assistance Team.
