BIO: Robert Pershing Doerr was born in 1918 in Los Angeles, CA and died in 2017 in Junction City, OR. He played major league baseball from 1937 to 1951 as 2nd baseman for the Boston Red Sox, appeared in the 1946 World Series, was selected 9 times as an All-Star, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986.
