BIO: William Amos Sample was born in 1955 in Roanoke, VA and went to college at James Madison University. He played major league baseball from 1978 to 1986 as outfielder for the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves. Since the conclusion of his playing career, Bill Sample has functioned from time to time as a broadcaster. In this capacity he has worked for the Atlanta Braves (radio and TV, 1988-1989), California Angels (radio, 1993-1994) and MLB radio (2001-present).
