BIO: Alan Cochrane Strange (Inky) was born in 1906 in Philadelphia, PA and died in 1994 in Seattle, WA. He played major league baseball from 1934 to 1942 as shortstop for the St. Louis Browns and the Washington Senators. Strange got his nickname "Inky" because he worked as a printer in the off-season.
