BIO: Ronald Maurice Darling was born in 1960 in Honolulu, HI and went to college at Yale University. He played major league baseball from 1983 to 1995 as pitcher for the New York Mets, Montreal Expos and the Oakland Athletics, appeared in the 1986 World Series, and was selected in 1985 as an All-Star. Darling been a Mets color analyst on television since 2006. He also had a bit part in the Jack Black film "Shallow Hal." Darling's brother, Eddie Darling, was a first baseman in the New York Yankees' chain in 1981-1982.

Louis Requena (pronounced Re-KEN-ya) was born in 1919 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Living in Chelsea, NY, Requena gained his fame in the 1960's freelancing for the Associated Press, United Press International, and the New York Yankees. His photos have also appeared as many Topps baseball card issues. He started shooting almost by accident. A World War II veteran, he began working for a Veterans Administration office in Manhattan. One day, the office needed someone to take photos of a veteran who had become a professional boxer. At the same time, he was working part-time as a salesman in a men's clothing store in the Bronx. A suggestion from a co-worker led him to El Diario, the Spanish-language daily. He finagled the Yankees organization into letting him photograph team members standing with amateur Hispanic ball teams in the Bronx. El Diario gave his photos big display and he was off. After that, the Yankees started asking him to shoot things for them, and he became one of their official photographers.
