BIO: Daniel Raymond Quisenberry (Quiz) was born in 1953 in Santa Monica, CA and died in 1998 in Leawood, KS. He went to college at the University of La Verne. He played major league baseball from 1979 to 1990 as pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants, appeared in the 1980 and 1985 World Series, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star. Quisenberry credited La Verne coach Ben Hines for developing his submarine style. During his career, Quisenberry never went on the disabled list. Away from the field, he was known for his poetry, sense of humor, and sharp intellect. He died of a brain tumor at age 45.
