If you have any questions about a particular piece, please ask before the auction ends. BIO: James Louis Beattie was born in 1954 in Hampton, VA and went to college at Dartmouth College. He played major league baseball from 1978 to 1986 as pitcher for the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners, and appeared in the 1978 World Series. After his playing career ended, Jim Beattie went on to serve as Farm Director and Director of Player Development for the Seattle Mariners from 1990 to 1995. He moved on as General Manager of the Montreal Expos from October 1995 to 2001. Next he was Executive Vice President/Co-GM of the Baltimore Orioles beginning in 2003.
