BIO: John Claiborn Mayberry Sr. was born in 1949 in Detroit, MI. He played major league baseball from 1968 to 1982 as 1st baseman for the Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees, and was selected in 1973 and 1974 as an All-Star.

Eduardo (Padilla) Figueroa was born in 1948 in Ciales, Puerto Rico. He played major league baseball from 1974 to 1981 as pitcher for the California Angels, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and the Oakland Athletics, and appeared in the 1976 and 1978 World Series.

Thurman Lee Munson (Tugboat, Squatty Body, The Wall) was born in 1947 in Akron, OH and died in 1979 in Canton, OH. He went to college at Kent State University. He played major league baseball from 1969 to 1979 as catcher for the New York Yankees, appeared in the 1976, 1977 and 1978 World Series, and was selected 7 times as an All-Star. Munson was the 1970 American League Rookie of the Year, and was named American League MVP in 1976. He earned 3 Gold Glove Awards as a catcher. Munson's career was prematurely ended when he was killed piloting his private plane on August 2, 1979. In 1989 the city of Canton, OH named their new ballpark after him, calling it Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium.
