BIO: Roy David McMillan was born in 1929 in Bonham, TX and died in 1997 in Bonham, TX. He played major league baseball from 1951 to 1966 as shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Braves and the New York Mets, and was selected in 1956 and 1957 as an All-Star. After retiring, Roy McMillan was a coach for the Jacksonville Suns in 1967. He then managed in the New York Mets system in 1968-1969. He was a coach for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1970 to 1972, managing the team for two games in 1972 after Dave Bristol was fired. He then moved back to the Mets as a coach in 1974 and replaced Yogi Berra as manager partway through the 1975 season. The team did slightly worse under his guidance, and he was not retained for the following year. He also managed in the Minnesota Twins chain in 1977-1980. He then scouted for the Montreal Expos.
