Texas Ranger pitcher Jim Bibby and Rangers owner Bob Short (right) are jubilant after Bibby's no-hit, no-run feat against the Oakland A's here 7/30. Short gave Bibby a $5,000 retroactive raise. He went to college at Fayetteville State University. He played major league baseball from 1972 to 1984 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Pirates, appeared in the 1979 World Series, and was selected in 1980 as an All-Star.
