He played major league baseball from 1971 to 1989 as pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers, appeared in the 1976 World Series, and was selected in 1988 as an All-Star.
