BIO: Charles William Smith was born in 1937 in Charleston, SC and died in 1994 in Reno, NV. He played major league baseball from 1960 to 1969 as 3rd baseman and shortstop for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs. Smith died at the relatively youthful age of 57 in a Nevada hospital following knee surgery.
