He played major league baseball from 1952 to 1968 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Giants, San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves, appeared in the 1962 World Series, and was selected in 1961 as an All-Star. Pitching in the 1961 All-Star Game at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, CA, relief pitcher Stu Miller was blown off the mound by strong winds. A balk was called. Edward Raymond Stanky (The Brat or Muggsy) was born in 1915 in Philadelphia, PA and died in 1999 in Fairhope, AL. He played major league baseball from 1943 to 1953 as infielder for the Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves, New York Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals, appeared in the 1947, 1948 and 1951 World Series, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star. His Giants manager Leo Durocher once summed up Stanky's talents: "He can't hit, can't run, can't field. He's no nice guy... all the little SOB can do is win." Harvey (Jr.) Haddix (Kitten) was born in 1925 in Medway, OH and died in 1994 in Springfield, OH. He played major league baseball from 1952 to 1965 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Baltimore Orioles, appeared in the 1960 World Series, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star. After his playing career ended, Haddix was a New York Mets coach in 1966 and 1967. He coached the Columbus Jets at the beginning of 1968, then moved to the GCL Pirates as coach when the Gulf Coast League season started. Haddix was a member of the Cincinnati Reds staff in 1969 and a Boston Red Sox coach in 1971. From 1975 to 1978, he was a member of the Cleveland Indians staff, and the next six season, Haddix was a Pittsburgh Pirates coach. SKU: XP12950
