After taking the first game, 3-2, the Dodgers sewed up teh second game, 4-3. The Pittsburgh catcher waiting for the throw is McCullough.

BIO: Robert Morris Morgan was born in 1926 in Oklahoma City, OK and died in 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. He played major league baseball from 1950 to 1958 as infielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs, and appeared in the 1952 and 1953 World Series. After his active playing and managing career Morgan became a scout for the Kansas City Royals until he became a restaurant manager in his home town of Oklahoma City, OK.
Edwin Donald Snider (The Silver Fox) was born in 1926 in Los Angeles, CA and died in 2011 in Escondido, CA. He played major league baseball from 1947 to 1964 as outfielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants, appeared in the 1949, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, and 1959 World Series, was selected 8 times as an All-Star, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980. Snider went on to become a popular and respected play-by-play announcer for the Montreal Expos from 1973 to 1986.
Clyde Edward McCullough was born in Nashville, TN and died in 1982 in San Francisco, CA. He played major league baseball from 1940 to 1956 as catcher for the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates, appeared in the 1945 World Series, and was selected twice as an All-Star. Originally a member of the New York Yankees farm system, he never played for the Bombers; instead, he was sold to the Chicago Cubs in September 1939 after toiling for the Yanks' Kansas City Blues farm club.
Herbie Scharfman was born in 1912 and died in 1998. A photographer for International News, The New York Mirror and the Brooklyn Dodgers in his earlier days, Scharfman became one of the greatest sports photographers of his generation. His works have been made famous throughout the pages and covers of Sports Illustrated ever since the magazine's inception.
