BIO: William Harold Southworth was born in Harvard, NE and died in 1969 in Columbus, OH. He played major league baseball from 1913 to 1929 as outfielder for the Cleveland Naps, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Braves, New York Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals, appeared in the 1924 and 1926 World Series, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008. Southworth also managed the Cardinals in 1929 as well as 1940-45 and the Boston Braves from 1946-51.
Ernest Daniel White was born in 1916 in Pacolet Mills, SC and died in 1974 in Augusta, GA. He played major league baseball from 1940 to 1948 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Braves, and appeared in the 1942 World Series. He was a player-coach with the Boston Braves in 1947 and 1948 and a member of the New York Mets coaching staff in 1963. He also managed 15 years in the minors.
James Roberson Brown was born in 1910 in Jamesville, NC and died in 1977 in Bath, NC. He went to college at North Carolina State University. He played major league baseball from 1937 to 1946 as infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates, appeared in the 1942 World Series, and was selected in 1942 as an All-Star. After his playing career ended, Brown was a Boston Braves coach from 1949 to 1951.
