If you have any questions about a particular piece, please ask before the auction ends. BIO: William Harridge was born in 1881 in Chicago, IL and died in 1971 in Evanston, IL. Harridge was the longtime secretary of American League founder Ban Johnson and was later AL president himself from 1931 to 1959. He was instrumental in the creation of the All-Star Game in 1933. A St. Louis-based photographer, George Dorrill served as the Cardinals' official photographer from the 1940s to the 1960s. Dorrill's work also appears on many of the team-issued press photos of the other St. Louis home team, the Browns. In addition, Dorrill contributed photos to many sports maagazines of the era, incuding Sporting News-issued photos during the WWII period. SKU: L14518
