He played major league baseball from 1939 to 1951 as catcher for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Athletics and the Boston Red Sox, appeared in the 1942 World Series, and was selected 5 times as an All-Star. Arndt Ludwig Jorgens was born in 1905 in Modum, Norway and died in 1980 in Wilmette, IL. He played major league baseball from 1929 to 1939 as catcher for the New York Yankees.
