BIO: Ernest Gordon Phelps (Blimp) was born in 1908 in Odenton, MD and died in 1992 in Odenton, MD. He played major league baseball from 1931 to 1942 as catcher for the Washington Senators, Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Pirates, and was selected 3 times as an All-Star.
